Welcome to the HEC Montréal e-mail service

E-mail access policy

Four categories of users have access to HEC Montréal e-mail accounts.
Current employees of HEC Montréal All current HEC Montréal employees have access to an e-mail account.
A current employee is one who has a position at HEC Montréal and is on file with the Human Resources Department.
Current students at HEC Montréal All current HEC Montréal students have access to an e-mail account.
A current student is one who is eligible to enrol in a course in a program of studies, according to the Registrar's office.
Employees who have retired since 1993 All HEC Montréal employees who have retired since 1993 keep their e-mail addresses.
HEC Montréal alumni since the summer 1996 term All individuals who have graduated from HEC Montréal since the summer 1996 term keep their e-mail addresses.
A user who no longer falls into any of these categories will be notified by the system that his or her mailbox will be deleted within 15 days, so as to give the user time to notify his or her correspondents.

(*) You will be notified 15 days before you reach the maximum storage time.
E-mails stored past the maximum period will be deleted.
Old e-mails will be deleted first if you exceed the maximum storage capacity.
(**)You will keep your active flag as long as you read regulary your mailbox (once per 6 months)

Once e-mail messages have been deleted, they cannot be recovered.
The trash folder is automatically emptied every 24 hours.

ALL e-mail messages must comply with the HEC Montréal code of ethics.

ALL e-mail messages sent via our servers must be authenticated.
Please see the "Configuring your e-mail software" section of http://www.mailer.hec.ca.

HEC Montréal may impose limitations on e-mail transmission.

Webmail was introduced at HEC Montréal to provide everyone with a Web-based mail server access.
This service is similar to Hotmail; its main advantage is that it can be consulted at any time on any computer connected to the Web.

We recommend that you regularly update your software.
